** Basic Course ($475.00): This two-day course on non-destructive entry (NDE) is perfect for the professional fire fighter/public safety officer. The course is open to all sworn personnel, including fire service personnel. In this course you will learn the basics of non-destructive entry, including basic lock picking, basic lock bypassing and bumping. The class has been specially designed with fire personnel in mind, and will focus on those types of residential and commercial locks you are most likely to encounter in the course of your employment. You will be given the opportunity to work on over 150 locks, including knob locks, lever handled locks, deadbolt locks, commercial mortise locks, and padlocks. Legal issues related to NDE will also be covered. Students will be issued as part of the course a professional lock pick set, as well as several other related entry tools. This is the first course of the 2-course series. It may be taken back to back with advanced, or it can be taken with the advanced taken anytime (even months or years) afterwards.
**Advanced Course ($475.00): This two-day course on non-destructive (NDE) and less-destructive entry is the perfect follow-up course for students who have had the basic course or a similar course. Basic knowledge of lock picking, bumping and bypass techniques is needed before taking the advanced course. The advanced course can be taken immediately after the basic course or at a later date well after the basic course. This course will focus on sharpening the students’ lock picking techniques, as well as teaching additional bypass techniques, new techniques related to less-destructive entry (for locks that cannot be picked, bumped or bypassed), and several other options to make the fire service professional much more proficient with their entries and offering them several options and alternatives when assessing a location for entry. Lock decoding, pinning and key identification will be covered. Legal issues will also be discussed, and students will be issued additional professional entry tools (different from what was issued in the basic course). Students should bring with them their tools from the basic course. This is the second course in the 2-course series, and is highly recommended to be taken to round out the skills learned in the basic course.
